The proposed closure of a busy level crossing in Bicester is a "kick in the teeth", says the MP.
This comes as East West Rail (EWR) revealed design plans for the line, which include proposals to close London Road Crossing in Bicester and for traffic to be diverted using existing roads and upgraded local road diversions.
An accessible replacement crossing - either a footbridge or underpass - has been proposed for cyclists, pedestrians and other users.
In reaction to this, Calum Miller, the MP for Bicester and Woodstock, said: "I am dismayed that East West Rail are proposing to close London Road to vehicles.

"I support the new railway but it will cut our town in two and successive governments have let that happen by their inaction.
"Today's announcement is a kick in the teeth for many residents."
Plans to accommodate four EWR trains per hour in each direction in addition to existing services means the minimum barrier down time at the level crossing would "likely exceed" 32 minutes per hour.
EWR said this would create "unacceptable waiting times" for users of the crossing and the doubling of traffic queues, as well as "significant safety concerns".
Mr Miller has campaigned for years with local residents to keep London Road open for pedestrians, cyclist and car users and has previously raised fears that a closure of the crossing would "cut the town in two".
He said thanks to pressure from his campaign, Oxfordshire County Council, Cherwell District Council have "supported this call".
"Back in 2021, East West Rail consulted on closing the road. Our pressure since then has ensured more engagement, and I welcome the proposals for a proper crossing for pedestrians and cyclists," said Mr Miller.
"But this proposal leaves drivers stranded on either side of the level crossing. Bicester’s residents have been badly let down by East West Rail and the Government.

"This is a national project that will bring national benefits.
"It is not fair that the cost is felt by Bicester's residents.
"I hope they will make that clear to East West Rail and to the Government by attending next week's public meeting and responding to the consultation."
The proposal to close the crossing was made after EWR considered two road bridge options to create a new vehicle crossing.
EWR found that neither option provided a material saving in time to people’s journeys compared to using alternative routes, and the preferred solution is for traffic to be diverted using existing roads and upgraded local road diversions.
EWR did not wish to respond to Mr Miller's comments.
