Celebrity Oxford United fan Michaela Strachan was spotted with Scouting For Girls after breaking their hearts.

The Springwatch presenter went along as the band played at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on Thursday night.

Ms Strachan was spotted backstage with Scouting for Girls following the show and took to social media to congratulate the musicians.

She is the subject of the band’s 2007 song ‘Michaela Strachan’ in which the lyrics which feature the chorus of “Michaela Strachan you broke my heart when I was twelve”.

The 58-year-old tagged the band in the post on X which featured four photos including one of herself with the popstar.

“Backstage with Scouting for Girls on Thursday night at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire,” said Ms Strachan.

“Such an amazing gig. They are utterly brilliant live. Had the best night ever.

“A little surreal but enjoyed every second.

“Thank you Roy Stride for making me feel so special and I'm so sorry 'I broke your heart when you were 12!"

The presenter was spotted among the fans backing Oxford United in their Wembley triumph in May. 

Wearing club colours, she was pictured alongside her son Oliver on Wembley Way as the Yellows beat Bolton Wanderers 2-0 to win promotion to the Championship.

After the game, she posted on X and said: "Well done you Yellows. 

“They played like champions and won 2-0.

"Fantastic crowd at Wembley Stadium."
