A world-famous historian will speak in Oxford on how Brexit is having an impact on Britain and Europe in a "turbulent political climate".
Timothy Garton Ash, Professor of European Studies at the European Studies Centre, St Anthony’s College, Oxford, and senior fellow at Stanford University, is an internationally renowned expert on recent European history, an author and journalist.
He will be speaking at a public meeting titled “Britain is still in Europe” on November 27 at 7pm, at the New Road Baptists Church, Bonn Square in Oxford city centre.

The event is organised by Oxford for Europe, a volunteer-run grassroots campaign group working to promote unity across Europe as part of the pro-EU movement.
Dr Peter Burke, Oxford for Europe chair, said: “This is a time of deep uncertainty, but one thing is clear, we need to work together ever more closely with our nearest neighbours, the countries of the European Union.
“Oxford for Europe’s message is that we should keep up our hope for better things.
“There is no better person in the country to help us grasp these issues than Prof Garton Ash. He is a man for whom the term "public intellectual" was coined.
“We are delighted that Prof Garton Ash will be sharing his insights and making himself available for a question-and-answer session. An evening not to be missed."
In Oxford on 27 November? Join me to discuss Britain’s relationship with the rest of Europe - as our continent is attacked by Putin and nervously awaits Trump. 1900, in the church at (suitably enough) Bonn Square… https://t.co/6JIE4nxEeA

Mr Garton Ash is considered the "greatest living expert and reporter on the recent history of central Europe" and believes that Britain belongs in Europe.
His talk will ask where Britain will stand in relation to Europe under Labour, and with Donald Trump elected the president of the United States.
