The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice across Oxfordshire.

The weather service has said that icy patches are expected to form this evening and overnight and could cause injuries from slips and falls on untreated roads across Oxford. 

The warning comes into effect from 5pm today (Tuesday, November 19), lasting until 10am tomorrow.

It comes amid disruptions to roads, railways and school from snow since earlier this morning.

The Met Office said: “Rain, sleet and snow will continue to clear southwards across England and Wales with clearing skies to follow.

“Temperatures are expected to fall below or close to freezing quite widely across the warning area with icy patches forming on untreated freezing surfaces.”

The warning is in effect for across large areas of England and Wales, with more snow also forecast for the east coast of England, much of Wales, and for Scotland.
