Thames Water has announced “critical” maintenance works that will close the high street of an Oxfordshire town for two nights, from tomorrow.
Wallingford High Street will face a five-way road closure for sewage repair works from Thursday, November 21 until Saturday, November 23.
The southeast water company says it will be working between the hours of 8pm and 5am and residents’ water services will remain unaffected.

The essential works aim to repair a broken asset to ensure the “continued reliability of the system,” the company wrote in a letter to residents.
The five-way closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the workers during the repairs, it said.
Residents were asked to leave any road management measures in place following the works.
Notice of two diversion routes to be put in place came with the announcement.
The first takes drivers on Croft Road, St Johns Road, Reading Road, Winterbrook, Noworthy Way and Port Way (and in reverse).
The second diversion will follow the A4074, Benson Lane, Henley Road, Wallingford Road, Shillingford Road and Castle Street (and in reverse).
