An Oxfordshire fire service successfully saved a trapped cow in Oxfordshire this week.
A crew from Thame Fire Station attended a call-out to help the trapped animal on Monday night.
The cow had become wedged between two posts – though neither the owner nor its rescuers could work out how it got there.

A vet was in attendance and sedated the animal so that the crew could safely cut through one of the posts to release the cow.
The service’s Rescue Tender, a large vehicle based at Kidlington Fire Station which carries specialist equipment and is crewed by a highly trained team designed to respond to challenging rescue incidents, was also at the scene.
The Thame Fire Station in Nelson Street, Thame, has an on-call crew and is not staffed 24-hours a day, but provides emergency responses, fire safety and other services.
