New public art sculptures, accommodation for private school pupils and signs on an upcoming French bakery are just some of the planning applications submitted to Oxford City Council this week.
An application for eight new pieces of art has been submitted for Fallaize Park which is part of the Oxford North Development, just off the A34 near the Peartree Interchange.
The artwork will resemble eight planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
The developer says they relate to "Oxford North’s aim of creating an innovative, interdisciplinary environment that combines life, work, and education".

The d’Overbroeck’s School has applied to convert 331-331A Banbury Road into housing for 16 pupils and two members of staff.
The school already has a number of boarding houses across the city as well as several in Banbury Road already.
The school has picked the new site due to its distance from the main teaching campus.
The plans say that the new accommodation would have 10 ensuite bedrooms comprising of six twin rooms and four single rooms.
There will also be a one-bed studio flat for a member of staff and an en-suite bedroom for a visiting residential member of staff.
Lincoln College has submitted an application for new signs on the building at 12 Turl Street as it prepares to open as the French bakery La Savoir Boulangerie.
The unit has been shut since Christmas 2019 when the jewellers Rowell's closed.
The unit is in a Grade II listed building and the plan is for a total of four signs, displaying the name of the bakery.
An application has been lodged by Aurora Energy Research Ltd for a rooftop terrace with a single storey outdoor kitchen building, pergolas, seating, outdoor planters, terrace decking, balustrades and associated works at St Aldate's Chambers, 109 - 113 St Aldate's.
The scheme includes an extension to the existing air conditioning compound and to the existing rooftop extension.
The planning statement said: “This application proposes the use of the rooftop as a new rooftop terrace, to be used by Aurora Energy Research who occupy the rest of the building as a new breakout space.”
An application has also been submitted for a replacement lead roof at Brasenose College in Radcliffe Square.
This is to address repairs to the supporting timber structures to avoid further fabric damage.
