The latest plans for a new mental health hospital and research hub in Headington will soon be available for the public to view.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and its partners are inviting people to see and discuss the plans for the Warneford Hospital site.

The public can view the proposals at the hospitals day centre on Thursday, December 5, from 4pm to 7pm, Friday, December 6, from 1pm to 6pm, and Saturday, December 7, from 10am to 1pm.

These exhibitions are part of the second stage of a pre-planning consultation by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, the University of Oxford, and a partner.

The initial consultation in September saw more than 400 people attend a series of online and in-person events.

The exhibitions will showcase the progress of the plans through displays and offer the chance to engage with the project team and experts.

The Warneford Hospital, a Grade II listed building, is the oldest inpatient unit still operational in the NHS but is now deemed unsuitable for modern mental healthcare.

The new plans for Warneford Park, which are in the pre-application planning stage, include a purpose-built mental health hospital, a new facility for brain research at the University of Oxford, and a postgraduate college.

For those unable to attend the exhibitions, the plans will be available to view online in early December at jointheconversation.scwcsu.nhs.uk/warneford-park-consultation.
