An overhanging tree has caused miles of traffic on the M40 across the border from Oxfordshire.
National Highways dispatched contractors to deal with the hazard near High Wycombe on a route well used by motorists in this county.
Drivers were facing 45 minute delays as two lanes of the motorway were closed to carry out the works.

In a statement online, a representative from National Highways said: "The M40 southbound between J4 near High Wycombe and J3 two lanes (of three) are closed due to an overhanging tree, very close to the carriageway.
"Our contractors are at scene, removing the tree and making it safe.
"Delays of 45 minutes, approximately five miles of congestion on the approach."
An updated statement from National Highways at around 7.30pm confirmed all lanes had reopened but there remained delays on approach.
This stated: "All lanes are now open. The overhanging tree very close to the carriageway has been removed.
"There are delays of 15 minutes, approximately three miles of congestion remain on the approach."
