Popular comedian Paddy McGuinness’ Oxford show was cancelled last night due to leaks from the theatre roof caused by bad weather.
The stand-up artist was supposed to perform at New Theatre Oxford last night, Sunday, November 24, but his show was called off at the last minute due to the impact of Storm Bert.
The show was the comic’s only appearance in Oxfordshire on his new tour Nearly There, marking his long-awaited return to stand-up.

Addressing his fans in an Instagram video, Mr McGuinness said: “Oxford, I’m absolutely gutted.
“The gig’s been pulled. The ceiling is leaking. They said when I got in, they were going to keep their eye on it but it’s got worse and worse.
“It’s a beautiful theatre but it’s all over the electrics, sorry about that, what can I do.
“I’ve got to respect the decision of the theatre because the staff there are amazing and if they could have put the show on, they would have.
“Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can get back in the New Year, and we can do it again.”
A statement from the theatre said: “Unfortunately owing to severe weather conditions, tonight’s performance of Paddy McGuiness has had to be postponed.
All patrons will be contacted by their points of sale. New Theatre Oxford would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The Radio 2 presenter added: “I’m gutted for everyone who bought tickets, booked babysitters and travelled in this horrendous weather.
“I really wanted to enjoy tonight with you but the good folk who run the venue have to take everyone’s safety into account.”
New Theatre Oxford has been approached for an update on the damage.
