Customers were “escorted out” of an Sainsbury’s store which closed unexpectedly on Tuesday.
Sainsbury’s Superstore on Limborough Road in Wantage suddenly closed yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, November 26).
One shopper, who asked not to be named, said: "Sainsbury's is closed. They've escorted everyone out but unsure why."
Another customer Linda Bollad said: "There was a power cut and lots of shops had to close including Waitrose.

"No card machines are working and no lights."
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Our Wantage store was closed for half an hour yesterday afternoon due to a power cut in the local area.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) confirmed that more than 700 people were left without power in the Oxfordshire town.
A spokesperson for SSEN said: “We were alerted to a fault on power supplies to 732 customers in Wantage on Tuesday, November 26 at 3.35pm.

“Engineers were able to quicky and safely restore power to all but 112 customers, who were reconnected at 7.28pm.
“While still working to establish the exact nature of the fault, early investigations suggest water damage to an underground cable due to the recent heavy rainfall and flooding.
“SSEN would like to thank its customers in Wantage for their patience while engineers worked to safely reinstate their power supplies.”
Of the customers, 620 were reconnected within an hour or so, with 112 waiting to be back on supply and those final 112 were back on by 7.28pm.
