More than 150 trees are set to be planted across Oxford this winter.
The city council will plant 151 trees in parks, recreation grounds, and other locations across the city this tree-planting season, which runs from November to March.
Oxfordshire County Council will also be planting 109 street trees in areas of Oxford.
This will be a combination of new and replacement tree planting.
Seventy-nine trees will be planted at Cutteslowe Park by the city council and 25 will be planted at South Park.
Other planting sites include David Walter Close, Ferry Hinksey Road, and Hawksmoor Road.
Councillor Anna Railton, deputy leader and cabinet member for Zero Carbon Oxford, said: "I am super pleased we’re planting over 150 trees across Oxford this winter.
"It’s a fantastic step in supporting biodiversity and enhancing our city’s green spaces.
"Each new tree brings benefits for wildlife, improves air quality and public space, and helps tackle the climate crisis.
"They are helping us to grow Oxford’s urban forest for future generations to enjoy."
The council is also encouraging residents to get involved in tree planting.
Information on how to become a tree guardian can be found on the Climate Action Oxfordshire website.
Residents can also sign up for the council’s newsletter series on tree planting, entitled ‘Treemails’.
The weekly mini-series aims to introduce tree planting to those wanting to learn more during the tree-planting season.
