Oxford Mail Camera Club members have been seeking out abstract images for our latest weekly theme.

They sent in unusual photos from across the county and beyond.

With some of their pictures it was difficult to tell at first glance what the subject matter was while others were more recognisable, including one photo of shops at the entrance to the Westgate Centre in Oxford.

There were lots of very striking photos, so it was difficult to pick a winner for photo of the week but in the end we selected Ann Faulkner’s stunning picture of a girl at Twist Museum in London, the premier museum of illusions.

Each week, camera club members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page.

A selection of photos are featured in the Oxford Mail, The Oxford Times and online, before one photo is chosen for photo of the week.

The winning photo is almost always related to the theme. The next theme is black and white.
