ZAC McEachran grabbed a stoppage time equaliser for Oxford City at home to Scarborough Athletic.

The Hoops found themselves a goal down after just two minutes, when Will Thornton directed a free header from a corner past Kai McKenzie-Lyle.

City found it difficult to break down a stubborn Seadogs defence, although Tom Scott found the sidenetting when he burst through on goal.

The introduction of Corie Andrews for the Hoops improved matters, and the striker set up a one-on-one opportunity for himself when he twisted and turned past two defenders, but then slipped at the crucial moment.

The Seadogs posed a threat from set pieces at the other end, with McKenzie-Lyle making a handful of stops to keep City within a goal of the visitors.

Andrews carved out another chance for himself when he skipped past the backline, but then couldn’t find the corner of the goal from a tight angle.

The Seadogs could’ve wrapped up the points with two minutes to go, when Dom Tear had a simple finish inside the penalty box, but he spurned the opportunity and fired wide. 

The Hoops made the away side pay, and when a corner led to a goal line scramble, McEachran was on hand to turn and shoot, rescuing a point for City five minutes into injury time.
